Salmon River Alaska
Beautiful sight, fatal chemistry.  Predicting the local details of climate change is very complicated. In this case, melting permafrost gives rise to what is essentially acid mine drainage without the mine.  Salmon River, Alaska.  Credit Warren Cornwall, Science 11 Sep 2025.

Three Blogs

Linked below are three very different blogs for three different purposes.  These are in lieu of social media. You can’t subscribe, but you can check back intermittently.

Earthly Matters. This links to tab on my scholarly home page where I add whatever strikes my mood at whatever times, usually on impulse. There is no schedule or plan. Think of them as tidbits or curiosities. Anything goes.

Stone Wall Initiative.  This links to a series of blog postings on the Stone Wall Initiative home page.  These are intermittently added when I find something of substance to add.

Climate Underground.  This links to a stand-alone website that holds an extensive series of short audio lectures (blogs) that used to be restricted to the course UNIV 1784-009 – Climate Underground, but which are here made public.
