From the Exhibit
“During the fall of 2025, MFA graduate students, guided by Professor of Art Janet L. Pritchard, undertook a semester-long project to explore Horsebarn Hill through artifacts from UConn Archives and Special Collections. In addition to showcasing these materials, the exhibition features work created by each artist in response to their research. The show considers how landscapes and historical materials can be reinterpreted, reframed, and brought into dialogue with contemporary art practices, capturing Horsebarn Hill’s unique spirit of place—what the ancients called the genius loci—folded within the creases of time.
MFA Artists/curators include Rosely Htoo ’27, Shuning Wang ’27, McKayla Bensheimer ’28, Bahar Ejtemaei ’28, Kate Greenwell ’28, Alex Heard ’28, and Avery Neilsen-Webb ’28.”
Thor’s Four
During their work, I gave a field-trip lecture that incorporated what I call “Thor’s Four.” They paraphrased my text and incorporated it that into the museum exhibit, as seen below.
