One third of my teaching load is reserved for Honors Education. Beginning in 2004 I developed a pilot interdisciplinary course titled “Geoscience through American Studies,” the first general education course at UConn developed specifically for Honors-only enrollment. It is now the oldest of about 25 courses in the Honors Core Curriculum. For the last decade, I’ve also rotated these two courses:
- GSCI 1055 – Geoscience and the American Landscape in the UConn Undergraduate Catalog
- AMST 1700 – Walden and the American Landscape in the UConn Undergraduate Catalog
